Ms. Olander holds a Masters Degree in Art and has received numerous awards and recognitions during her 30 years of painting in various mediums.  Color and form are Julie’s primary interests, as well as the way light affects objects in landscapes or still lifes.  She has recently studied with Charles Reid, Charles Sovek, Sam Barber and Robert Douglas Hunter.  Well respected for her fine watercolors and oils, Julie’s paintings are consistently selected for juried shows, where she has won over 25 ribbons. Ms Olander’s work has been shown at the Decordova, Fuller, Danforth and Cape Cod Art Museums, Boston City Hall and in the Palace in St. Petersburg Russia.  Her works are in numerous art collections both in the USA and abroad.

  She is also a member of the Allied Artists of America and an associate member in the New England Watercolor Society.  She is a member in the “21 in Truro” Group of Cape Cod, which has been featured at the Cahoon Museum and the Cape Museum of Fine Art.  She teaches in both of her studios, at several art associations, and does workshops nationally and overseas. In Massachusetts, Ms. Olander is a member of the Cape Cod Art Association and Falmouth Art Association . In Florida, she is a member of the Ft. Myers and Bonita Springs Art Leagues, among others. Ms. Olander’s works can be seen in several galleries, including,the Woods Hole Gallery, My Sister's Gallery, Frames of Reference Gallery and Clancy’s Collectibles and Art on Cape Cod.
